Moira Ann is One

Time marches on, doesn't it? I am writing Moira's first year in review three months after her second birthday. I am glad I had some stuff written down because I don't remember details anymore.

When she was four-months-old, I wrote, "She wakes up at 10, 12, 2, 3:10, 4:20, 5:30, and up for the day at 6:40 for most days, give or take a couple minutes and times. I might actually die from this. She smiles INSTANTLY when someone looks at her, though, so I still like her."

She started crawling at six-months-old and walking along furniture at seven-months-old. I was nervous she would be an insanely early walker, but she couldn't walk unless she was holding onto something. It turned out she had extremely flat and pronated feet and it took until she was 15-months-old to have the ankle strength to let go.

When she was seven-months-old, my shirt came up a little when she was crawling on me and she started blowing raspberries on my belly. It made me and Sylvia laugh and she looked at us and laughed and then did it again. Then we laughed harder and she laughed harder and did it again. She totally knew she was being funny! It was also at this age that she starting saying "Mama" and clicking her tongue. My Yia Yia and my mom would click at babies, so I click at my kids and I love it when they click back.

When she was eight-months-old, she loved ALL food, but she had tummy troubles. We never did figure out what specifically bothered her, but in spite of it, she was the happiest baby. Even when she was crying, you could get her to laugh.

At nine-months-old, she started saying "Nigh, night" and my favorite thing is she would repeatedly babble, "Haha, hehe, haha, hehe" over and over and over while she moseyed around.

At 10-months she would whisper "Hi" and tell the dog she was a good girl. That is also when she figured out how to crawl up and down the stairs. She would wake up much earlier than her sisters and keeping her from going into their room was a struggle. One morning she woke up Scarlett when she crawled into her room and started playing with her toys and patting her head.

I loved that baby. We moved across the country when she was four-months-old, so I feel like so much of her infancy is a blur. But I do remember being completely in love and obsessed with her. And I thought she had the prettiest little face in all the land.
