Bless the Baby

On November 20th we blessed Scarlett at Jordan's parents' home in Utah. A baby blessing is when the baby's father or other priesthood holder presents the infant's name to the Church and to the Lord and then gives her a blessing. Jordan blessed Scarlett with good health, happiness, the desire to be obedient, and many other wonderful attributes. Not to trifle with sacred things, but a blessing kind of reminds me of the beginning of Sleeping Beauty when the fairies give Princess Aurora gifts that will bless her in the future. Instead of fairies, though, Scarlett was encircled by the most important men in her life and blessed by her father. Her new cousin, Lincoln, was also blessed and there were at least a hundred people there. I cannot believe how much love surrounds these new little babies. They are truly special and valiant Spirits sent from heaven to better this world.
