Scarlett is Four

Scarlett turned four over two months ago, but here is her third year recap.

This girl keeps getting cuter and funnier and kinder and smarter and I just can't get enough of her. She is so well-rounded. She can play so hard until she is sweaty and red-faced, but she can also sit quietly and color for hours and hours. She loves to pretend and talk to herself and she tries so hard to do what is right. Yes, she has her tantrums and what I call "rage monster" moments, but she really is a great oldest child and sets such a wonderful example for her little sisters. I don't know what I would do without her.

Here are some funny things she said this year and a compilation of favorite pictures.

I don't remember what I asked her, but her response was "My heart says yes."

She didn't know what she was talking about but she walked up to me and said,
"Mom. Max the cat is expensive."

I told her we needed crape paper and balloons for a party and she said,
"Mom, don't forget the crabby balloons!"

She likes to run on the treadmill after I do and she always asks if she broke her record, so at age three her record for a mile was 16:06 and 7:32 for a half a mile.

When looking at a baby with brown skin she said, "Oh, my baby has blonde skin."

"I've been winking (thinking) about that."

She always shrugs her shoulders animatedly when she talks.

Pretend = Fortend

Actually = Ashquee

Pixie dust = Pisky dust

"So the baby's birthday cake needs sugar and mushrooms. And peppers and flour and eggs and cheese and milk."

"Mom I just love you. I mean I love Dad, too, but you're prettier."

"Scarlett to the rescume!"

"It's a beauti-soul day!"

She was trying to say ambulance and these are the words she used to get there:
"Look it's a element...owl mint...elephant...ugh...what is it?"

"Look mom, these are cinnamon roll (similar)!"

"Mom. This cake is so good, it is freaking out my mind."

"Can I watch this DVDV?"

"Let's play restaurant. I will be the cooker and you will be the sit-downer."

After Sylvia pulled her hair, "Maybe I could do it back to her and then run away?"

To her, 28 is the highest number. "That is 28 hard" or "I love you 28 much!"

When are we going back to Huffy Duffy (Philadelphia)?"

I asked, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" She replied, "Myself."
And I wouldn't have it any other way, because you are the BEST.
I can't wait to see how four looks on you.

We dye eggs all the time. She is obsessed with it.
She spent the whole summer at this spot in the pool practicing handstands.
Morning sleepyhead pictures are my favorite.
