Whenever something feels unfamiliar with Scarlett, I call my sister. Well, let's be honest, whenever I feel anything ever, I call my sister. We talk about, around, over, under, and through our thoughts and feelings until our mouths are dry and our ears are hot and we have found the true source of our problems. Ironically, the source is usually that we are over-thinking. Oh well. We always feel better. We often talk about the joys and trials of motherhood--how no one can prepare you for it. She decided to write a letter to new moms, just in case it isn't going as perfectly and wonderfully as they imagined. It's beautiful. It is raw and real, but also validating and hopeful, and her punctuation is perfect. Whether you are a seasoned mom, new mom, expecting mom, future mom, married to a mom, or if you have a mom, read this.
oh my gosh, she looks just like you.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you see it, too, Bran. It's the squinting eyes and apple cheeks.
DeleteThank you for sharing! Miss you
ReplyDeleteSo...you are saying you don't want me to tell you how much she looks like Jordan? ;) I got that all the time too. I finally stopped telling people, "no, actually he looks EXACTLY like me as a baby..." and saying, "uh huh!" It was easier...
ReplyDeleteBut I can definitely see you there--where else would she get the gorgeousness from?!?
I want to eat her! And then plant one of those amazing trees in my backyard.
