"All I Have To Do Is Dream"

I have been lucid dreaming like crazy, lately. I realize I am dreaming during a dream and I start making things happen. I know, so Inception of me.  I think it has been happening more frequently because that baby wakes me up so often in the middle of the night. My baby is always in the back of my mind and my brain doesn't have enough time between sleep and awake to distance myself from reality. When it first started happening, I would do stuff like make myself fly or make the bad guys disappear. Often times I am in school and I have forgotten to go to a class all semester and it's finals, or I am on stage and I don't know the words to a solo; but when I realize I am dreaming, the knot in my stomach disappears and I go on my merry little way. Sometimes I am topless or unclothed in some way, but the other night, I figured out it was a dream and started running around a big outdoor party, completely in the buff, chanting, "HA! HA! This is MY dream, I can run around naked!" Recently, I took my lucid dreams to a whole new level. I decided to just stop and look around and I was completely amazed by the detail. If someone gave me all the supplies or asked me to draw out what I saw, I would not be able to recreate it. It's incredible what our subconscious picks up about our surroundings. I was walking down a wooden ramp and there was dust in the corners and finger prints on the rail just like there would be in real life. I was in a large department store and there were mannequins and racks of clothes and full shelves and everything was organized and displayed perfectly. There was one time when I was driving from the passenger seat and realized it must be a dream, so I pulled over and walked into my dream house (Ha. Dream house. Obviously, it is a house in my dreams, but I mean it is the house I have always wanted).  If only I could find it in real life. I am also convinced that I know fluent Spanish in my sleep. I have taken a lot of Spanish classes and I got to the point where I could understand almost everything, I just couldn't respond very quickly, but my subconscious still has it all there, packed away in some memory box that can only be accessed in my sleep. I wish I could unlock these vaults of understanding, creativity, and wisdom consciously. I wonder if that is what heaven is like--if we are completely unencumbered by our mortal limits. I sure hope so, because right now I cannot wait to go to sleep.

  2. haha. So I told Jace a weird dream I had the other night. And we're talking WEIRD. He told me I have the most odd dreams ever, and I got very serious and said, "No. Carly does!" The end.
