Sew This is Love

We may have been MIA in the virtual world, but us Richardsons have been busy in the real world! Here is what we have been up to...

First of all, I did it. I made the guestbook quilt! It only took 2.5 months of being married before I started it, but it's done! ... Well, almost done. I still need to bind it, but with school starting, that's going to have to wait a little while {possibly a job for the road-trip to Tori's wedding?}.

It looks waaaaaay better in person. The colors are much softer and creamier. The back is light blue and the binding will be the same creamy fabric as the inner-border. I am now in LOVE with sewing. I feel so creative and I love having projects that STAY FINISHED! Homework never stays done, the dishes never stay cleaned, the carpet never stays vacuumed, but sewing has been an excellent refuge {and I think it will be an excellent outlet in motherhood}.

While I quilted, Jordan was busily working on growing a beard. With 2 weeks off between summer and fall semesters, he couldn't help himself. He wanted to look even more hard core so he put on a leather jacket and got on a stranger's bike for effect.

On the same day, mind you, he tried on one of my skirts so his bad-to-the-bone image vanished quickly.

Then the beard turned into a goatee for a couple days.

Our most exciting news is that we took our first financial plunge as a married couple! Our Ford Focus needed more work than it was worth, so we traded it in for a 2002 Toyota Camry! We're in love. And very grateful for the U.S government and the grants they gave us that contributed to our first family vehicle.

Welcome to the family, Mr. Toyota. Remember who you are and that you are loved.
