Honeymoon - The Drive

After the most amazingly wonderful, beautiful wedding, we took off to Disneyland! We made a few stops along the way--some planned, some not.

While driving from Denver to Utah, we thought it would be funny to stop at Buffalo Bill's grave. I have taken that drive many a time in my life and I've never stopped. To our surprise, we found not only his grave, but a museum about him, a huge gift shop dedicated to his memory, impersonators, shows, and more. These people in this little mountain town are obsessed. It was fantastic. We bought a magnet.

Our next adventure was on the drive from Utah to California. All was well, we had just passed the half way mark and were just outside of Sin City. We were patting ourselves on the back for making such good time when suddenly everything on the dashboard went to zero. We laughed at it and thought "oh we'll get it checked out at the next gas station." Then the air conditioning stopped and everything on the dashboard was going back and forth from zero to max. We decided not to find out what our possessed car was going to do next and we pulled over. Our car didn't turn on again until five hours later with a new alternator and 250 bucks pumped into her.

We got towed through Vegas with "Just Married" on our car.
Hilarious.

The whole thing ended up being a huge blessing. Our very kind tow truck man pulled some sweet strings for us newlyweds and it ended up being a lot less money than it should have been.

  1. All this time I've been wanting to say I've seen your butt quack. Now my life is complete.

  2. I am so happy! two reasons: One, because I had this horrible dream last night that Jordan died the day after you guys got married. It was so sad. So this post has reinforced my hope that he is still alive...good.
Second, because you guys are cute.

  3. Total bummer, but a great story you will always have about your honeymoon. Ours is that we got so fried that we couldn't touch each other for two days!

  4. Speaking of me dying, I actually almost did today! After eight skidding tires, a jackknifed trailer, and paint all over the place I pulled through okay. I swear I wear my seat belt, but it was just one of those days... I don't know if Carly should hear that story after last nights chat.
