Scarlett turned three today. I can't believe it has already been three years, and at the same time I can't believe it has only been three years. I feel like I have known her forever. I love that little chick so much. She is so smart, hilarious, compassionate, and wonderful. She is such a good helper and wise beyond her years.
Favorite foods: Strawberries and cheese
Favorite games: I spy with my tiny eye and dress-up
Favorite song: I Am a Child of God
Favorite places to go: Children's Museum and camping
(We haven't been camping in a year. Sorry, Chica.)
Best quotes and mispronunciations from the last year:
Oh goo kay = it's okay
Scomat = stomach
Tie-nin bit = tiny bit
Back horch = porch
Horange = orange
I have good die-ya = good idea
Pie-pad - iPad
I asked "Is it too hot?" and she said, "It's three hot!"
Her: (wimpering)
Me: What's wrong? Did you get hurt?
Her: No. I just wish I had lots of legs like a bug.
For awhile she couldn't say her own name. She was known to everyone as "Sauce-ick"
"I didn't panic, I was just thinking about it."
"I might think to fix it because I'm a doctor."
After pretending to go to school and returning, I ask what she does
at school and she always says,
"I teach my friends how to be wee-wee carpool." (really careful)
"Do you want to go bubbling with me?" (Blow bubbles)
"I am making you a big heart because I love you too much."
"That's purseket!" (Perfect)
"Ooo! A poly-poly (roly-poly)! I am going to roll him up.
Now I will put him in the crack. Now he's asleep."
"Alright! I PJ-ed!" (Put on PJs)
"It's just that when you leave, it makes my throat hurt."
"I'm just dragging my towel like a normal person."
While laying in the shade after playing in the park, "I'm just trying to get all the hot off."
Scarlett
kept asking Jordan to carry her around the store and finally he said
"You have two feet, you can walk by yourself." A few days later I asked
her if she wanted to sit on my lap and she said "I have own bum so I can
sit by self."
"Nobody wants to hear you sing that, Dad."
One
day she said "I'm moving to Ca-worn-a (California) by self" and grabbed a baby doll,
a spray bottle, and walked out the door yelling "Bye! Have a good time!"
Slinky is pronounced "skinny" "sneaky" and "stinky"
One time I heard her yell, "I can't live like this! I gotta get outta here!"
For some reason, every time Jordan leaves she says, "Don't get close to trains!"
One day she figured out how to cross her eyes and yelled "Look! Two mommies!
Her: "Thank you, Grandma for making dinner!"
Me: "Good job saying thank you, Scar!"
Her: "I just said it because you didn't say it."
Pronouns are hard - "Him sad because his all by herself."
While resting on the couch - "I'm going to take a couple sleep. I just need to get all the tired off."
"Belle is in time-out because she took the Beast's toys."
"I really like this mooseket mom!" (Music)
"My throat keeps bugging me to keep coughing."
She has a shirt with an American flag on it and whenever she sees an actual flag, she points to the flag, then to her shirt and says "Wag! Wag!" because she can't say her Fs. Well one day she saw a flag but wasn't wearing her flag shirt and she said so sadly, "Aww, I can't say wag, wag."
One night the baby was so tired but restless. Finally I
laid her down and she was awake, but happy, so I was hoping maybe she
would just fall asleep on her own. A few minutes later she started to
cry and before I could go in, Scarlett started singing to her and they
both fell asleep.
And for her birthday we had a "wancy tea party!" We are out of town, and like a dummy, I forgot my camera. Thank
goodness for phones. A special thanks to our friend Meagan for
hosting this little party and having the cutest tea-set and dress-up
clothes in the world.
Oh my word! She is getting to be quite the lady! Happy birthday Scarlett!
