Scarlett Jane is Two

This chick. Oh my gosh she is so freaking wonderful. I don't know how else to say it. Every day is so awesome. It isn't easy, but it's awesome. She is getting so funny and smart. If you took a glimpse at her two-year-old life, you would hear a string of two- or three-word sentences like "Ank-oo, Mommy" (Thank you, Mommy) or "Button, peas" (Band-aid, please. That took awhile to figure out) or "Daddy bike crash trees owie thumb sad" (that one is actually pretty well described and way more than three words). She is a good eater. She is easily deceived into eating vegetables if they are properly disguised or coated in cheese, but I am the same way so no complaints there. Although she does have her dad's sweet tooth and is constantly asking for "dake" (cake). She also loves to say prayers. Every night she has to thank God for everyone and everything she can think of. We forgot to thank Him for the baby and Papou (Grandpa) tonight and she made us kneel back down so we could fix our mistake. Every night, she has to sleep with her bear, her baby, a "duke" (drink), her blanket, her paci (don't judge me) and three books. Sometimes she needs George (as in the monkey), but she gets enough of him and his show during the day that she doesn't need him as much at night. My favorite thing about our day is how she mothers her baby doll. Everyday she takes her baby to the end of the sidewalk, bounces her and rocks side to side as she pensively overlooks the grass and trees. Then she tells her baby it is time to go "nigh, night," gently places her in the stroller, covers her with a "bankey" and then tells me to be quiet because her baby is "seepy." This all sounds so picturesque, but don't be fooled. You would also see in this snapshot of our day an image of her booking it out our front door, across the parking lot, and toward the street. Then you would see me hoist her over my pregnant belly while she throws a tantrum because I am the meanest for not letting her wander wherever she wants. The point is, she is hilarious and wonderful and exhausting and I love her with everything in me.
