There's this theory....

So there is a theory that when a fetus's heart rate is higher then 160 bpm it's a girl and if it is lower than 160 it's a boy. The older the baby, the more accurate the results. Four weeks ago our little one's heart-rate was 180 and Jordan's heart-rate plummeted when he thought hope was lost for having a boy. He has been telling me this whole month that next time the baby's heart-rate will be much lower because we are supposed to have little Samuel first. Well today the baby's heart-rate was 150 and Jordan's heart-rate probably jumped to about that high as well with joy. So we'll see. We can find out the baby's sex in TWO WEEKS if we pay 50 dollars or we can wait six weeks and find out for free. I am surprisingly torn. I know that waiting is probably smarter and the baby will be bigger so it will be more accurate, but what would you do? I for one want to start shopping asap.

    Just wait, I say, because what if "she" turns out to be "he" because his "jewels" haven't dropped into place yet? Just a thought. Plus, I am a total cheapskate.

    I'm with you Brittany. My nephew Zach was my niece for a month or two in the womb... I'm not putting my little Samuel through that

    I wouldn't be able to wait if you piad me! I tried to pay my sister-in-law to find out early, but she wouldn't do it. So....I think you should find out early cause that would be sooo neat! i'm just selfish basically...

    Oh my gosh...you can suck it up for another six weeks! Why do you think we never found out with Meg and Jake...ultrasounds were way too early. Just wait and then use that $50 bucks to buy really cute BLUE or PINK stuff.

    I don't know how to respond to you directly, Lauren. Hopefully you'll see this. My Dr's office let's you do it as early as 16 weeks. I was 13.5 weeks when I wrote the post, so technically I should have said we can found out in 2.5 weeks =)

    Make a chain and for each day you have to wait pull it off the chain...and then with the money you would have spent on knowing the sex early you can buy your baby "somethin' real niiiice!" Plus, doctors could be wrong about the sex anyway...Its happened! hahaha

    I personally don't know what all your debate is about. I already know it's a boy so just save your money and go buy him some clothes! There's no need to wait : )
