Happy Holidays

On Thanksgiving we played "Pin the Hat on the Turkey."
Grandma played only because the winner got a back, head, and foot massage.
Sorry that you didn't win, Grandma.
Maybe we shouldn't have spun you so many times.

Guess who won? He always wins...

Last night, Jordan and I went up to Bountiful to pick out a Christmas tree with Christian and Elizabeth. Growing up, it was tradition for our family to go out on the coldest night of the year (not on purpose) and pick out the tallest tree in the lot and my dad would cheerfully bargain down the price while we would drink hot cider. Christian has carried this tradition down to his family of creation and I am so happy we were apart of it. For the first time, I won't be home for Christmas, so I was so grateful to bring a little bit of home here.

My favorite part about a live tree is the smell. When Elizabeth saw me sucking all the smell out of their tree as we put up twinkle lights, she made me a table decoration out of the broken branches to take to our tiny tree-less apartment. I thought it was very precious of her. Thank you Elizabeth. It smells fantastic in here.

  1. So cute! I like the make-shift christmas tree scent maker! Are you guys going to get a tree of your own, or just enjoy the table decor?? Either way, you win! Love you!

  3. Dear Carly.
One time, when we got married, Lecia gave us a little apartment tree. It's like, 3 feet tall. But hey, that's the bomb dot com in an apartment. It is sitting in my storage room right now, wishing it had someone to take it out and love it and decorate it.

Call me if you want it, kk?
